MEXICO CITY — Canada's Governor General Michaelle Jean arrived late Sunday in the Mexican capital to start a three-day official visit, where she will meet with President Felipe Calderon and legislators, diplomatic sources said.
Jean, Canada's personal representative of its head of state Queen Elizabeth II, will begin in Mexico a visit to Latin America that will also take in Guatemala and Costa Rica.
She was joined by her husband Jean-Daniel Lafond and Peter Kent, Canada's minister of state of foreign affairs for the Americas.
She will meet with Calderon on Monday, officials said.
