
Today, the OECD predicted that Canada’s economic growth will, by a wide margin, lead all G-7 countries this year.
We are not surprised. Just look at the facts.
In January, GDP grew 0.6%, the biggest monthly increase since December 2006. Canada has now benefited from five consecutive months of economic growth.
Also in January manufacturing sales rose, the seventh increase in eight months.
In February, employment increased by nearly 21,000 jobs, lowering the unemployment rate to 8.2%. Since July 2009, Canada has created almost 160,000 new jobs.
The global accounting firm KPMG has just ranked Canada the most competitive industrialized country for job creators.
And according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, business confidence among Canada's small and medium-sized businesses is at its highest level in five years.
